Color by Number Advent Calendar Mysteries
All aboard. A quiet journey to Christmas.
24 nights, 24 short chapters, 24 mystery portraits for adults.
Every evening from December 1, you read a few pages of a Christmas mystery, then you turn the page and color the hidden portrait of the passenger you just met. One small door a night, until the story arrives on Christmas Eve.
How a color by number advent calendar works
Each day of December opens with a short chapter, followed by a black-background coloring page with its color key printed facing it. It takes a quiet evening, and it gives the countdown to Christmas a small ritual of its own.
Read the chapter
A few minutes of story, and someone new to meet: the one whose portrait waits on the next page.
Turn the page
Like opening the door of an advent calendar. Behind it waits a grid of numbers and letters, and nothing tells you yet who is hiding there.
Color the portrait
Follow the simple key, one cell at a time, and the passenger you just met appears under your markers.
One last train to Christmas
It's Christmas Eve, and the old Whiterope Line is about to run for the very last time, from the valley up into the snow. A baker, a fiddler, a beekeeper, a toymaker: all of them animals, all of them carrying the same small cream card, unsigned.
Night after night the train climbs through the valley, the forest and the storm, and the questions pile up. Who sent the cards, and why tonight? You will only know when the train reaches its final station.

Questions people ask
What is a color by number advent calendar?
It is a coloring book built like an advent calendar: one day of December per section, from the 1st to Christmas Eve. Here each day is a short chapter of a Christmas story followed by a mystery coloring page, so the countdown is something you read and color rather than something you open and eat.
When do I start, and how long does each day take?
On December 1. The chapter takes a few minutes to read, and the portrait can be colored in one evening or spread over several. If you fall behind, nothing is lost: the story waits for you. A printable surprise closes the calendar on Christmas Day.
Which markers or pencils should I use?
Markers and colored pencils both work, and the black backgrounds make the colors stand out. Every page is printed on one side only. If you use markers, slide a sheet of cardstock behind the page to keep the next one spotless. The markers I use are listed on the Pixelcolorist links page.
Is it a good Christmas gift?
It was made for that: wrapped in November, opened on December 1, with something to look forward to every evening until Christmas Eve. It suits anyone who loves a good story, a calm evening and color by number.
Is there a color by number advent calendar PDF?
Yes, the free Christmas page is a printable PDF from the world of the book, to try the format. The full advent calendar is a paperback, sold on Amazon.
About Éloi
Hi, I'm Éloi. I make coloring books on my own, one at a time, from the first sketch to the last page.
This is the first of my books with a story in it. My first language is French, so I asked my readers for help, and nearly a hundred of them volunteered. Five of them proofread every line of the 24 chapters.
I read every message that comes in. If you color a passenger, send it over, I love seeing what people do with these.
Where the book comes from
Color by Number Advent Calendar Mysteries was written, drawn and published by Pixelcolorist on October 16, 2026. It is the first Pixelcolorist book that tells a story, and it is made to come back every December.
It is sold on Amazon only. If you come across a lookalike under another name, it did not come from here.
